New Nova Model

Post by CnlPepper » Fri Jun 26, 2009 11:28 pm

I've finally got round to updating the EA Nova model. Its now fully parallax mapped like the Omega. It looks a lot more detailed than the last version while coming in at 3000 less polys. The poly count is ~8200.

Its on the SVN now so update your copies and go and have a play!

Looking at some of those screens it seems that model looks so good it surely can't be running in HW2!

Nice work!

Indeed very impressive work Pepper. Also, nice earth texture in the background.

Wow. Can you interact with Earth or is it in the background?

It's just background, but the possibility remains to do a special scenario with the earth defense sat network or similar. That probably won't come until we have a v1.0 release though.

That looks outstanding for an 8200 poly model.

Very nice!

This is probably a dumb question, but does the HW2 engine allow you to have more than one set of textures per shup-type? That is, is there any practical way of making it so that not every Nova is the "Swartzkopf", not every Omega is the "Agamemnon" and so on.
Assuming it's possible, I think it would be great to have the starfury's with a bunch of the different paint jobs used on the show.
