Campaign

Post by Cylon » Tue Oct 21, 2008 5:10 pm

Hi ive just downloaded the mod, it seems very good.
Just a few questions.
In some of the screenshots i have seen shadow ships, are they not in this version or have i just missed them?
And is there some way to play the campaign with either of the new races?

They're there, but not buildable. You have to play the capture mode and then on most maps there will be a control point on the map that you can capture, which will then spawn you a random Vorlon or Shadow fighter and once in a rare while, you'll get a Battlecrab to play with.

In part, yes. Like almost any other HW2 mod, you'll have to edit the persistant fleet info and add the ships you want to use in the campaign. That means that you can use the ships from level 2 onwards.

Once you've played through to level 2, there will be a file called persist2.lua in the \bin\profiles\profile#\campaign\ascension folder.

Open this. It will contain a complete list of the ships you ended level 1 with. Add more in the same way as the ones already in there. The names you will need to use are the folder names of the ships in the mod.

Thank you Very Much.
I will do this. Should be fun.
I find games in general are more fun with ships I am VERY familiar with.
THats really all that keeps me from fully playing out HW2 is the ships of the original game dont do alot for me.

Most of the capships in the mod would dominate against normal HW2 ships.
