great job on the ships, however, on my PC its starting to show some slowness in rendering. These models will definitely have to be optimized.

- removing any unnecessary lines
- probably removing the fractions from the numbers would improve speed

- combining lines into polygons.

great job so far.

Good job though Bern

Actually, they're all polygons. I edited my post to show that in the raw format section. However, I don't know if vertexes are duplicated in order to create adjacent polygons. If it stays as just a wireframe, using every other polygon should be ok (just one occurence of every vertex).

EDIT: Yes, they are definately duplicated. I'm not sure how we'd go about removing duplications, as the configuration can be quite complicated. However, if you're going to fill it in solid, we don't need to.

probably wont fill them in after thinking about it more, since i would have to do calculations to figure which polygons are "closer" to the camera so their color is shown. otherwise whichever polygon is drawn last would overwrite the color in that area.

when i get this up and running, and i have the spare time i'll do a load of different fighter models.

just a question though...

what sort of ships are we designing? is this goign to be a starwars based galaxy or is this going to be completly out of our own imaginations? i can imagine it being a bit of both, but i was wandering what you wanted the app to be
