First let me apologize for not getting back to you guys in a while, but i have been working feverishly on the code. I had the 3D stuff working great only to realize that it only worked great when the coordinates of the ships etc was comparatively small numbers. Java's number variable lose precision when the numbers get as huge as they will be in this game, so stuff started not working as i made the map bigger and bigger. I had to go back to the drawing board.

4 weeks later i finally got it working where it could handle the huge distances involved in the game AND not take a minute to refresh the view.

Basically the game is still in the early development stages but I have two screenshots for you guys and then a fun little task that you guys can help me on. see my next post.

This first one is two cruisers in orbit around a planet. the ships are not impressive but i had to come up with something that would allow me to test depth, perception, shape, etc. The ships we will use in the game can be as cool as you want (see my next post).

The second pic is showing the planet Europa being selected and displayed in more details. You will be able to drag select multiple ships/objects. quickly zoom across the universe, lots of stuff.

i will post a full list of all functionality currently developed when i get a chance.

.gif usually better than .jpg when there are few colours.
.png usually better than both
