If thats the reference pic youre using, then your model is widly innacurate. I would suggest you make it accurate, as that would look a whole lot sturdier.

i agree with m8, i would make the scaffolding thicker and all interconnected AND make the scaffolding part at least 2-3 times bigger. other than that, pretty good start, i guess Image

Well i just looked at that referance pic, and yeh i would advise being a LIL bit more accurate, but none the less not counting the scaffold, it looks beautiful

The Santa Maria was originally my design, but I only drew the side view a couple years ago, never got around to drawing other views. Awesome looking model! The panels above and below the engine compartment were actually were intended to angle out, in an "X" pattern, but I like what you've done with it. The background behind the design is on my website: http://www.wolfsshipyard.mystarship.com/EFCustom.html

hey really nice work on the textures so far BlackBird, this is kinda my concept of the connecting bit.

Kinda specific, but I think newer EA ships should move away from scaffold type bits completely(see victory/warlock).

I think its more like the original is being adapted. Not much chance of us fitting the support struts ingame without some problems Image

Lastly, CanisD I hope its fine with you, using&adapting the Santa Maria for the mod. We'll get your name in the credits asap.

Thanks for the input CanisD. now I understand why she's soo long. I think in HW she wouldn't need to carry Jumpgates. Image
The intent regarding a small & simple scaffold in the first place was to avoid high poly counts, case in point; the first SM that I made is over 5000 polies & I tried to make a realistic scaffold for it & the poly count went through the roof.
so my first objective is to minimize polies(double side polies too) as much as possible

thats an interesting concept you have there Unleashed...

I made some modifacations to the current
model & came up with a longer scaffold (one long 8 sided tube). & hopefully I'll bne able to make the Alfa layering work when I convert the textures Image+
some other minor details...

P.S. I stretched this pic(just a wee bit)for comparison purposes Image
