the problem is as charvell said, Its a 2d effect in a 3d universe. Pierce check out the peo that effect uses. If it is just a 2 sided flat square theres your answer. I belive the HW/Cat plasma bombs have the same problem IIRC

It uses the same .peo as the SoA photons, and they don't have the problem... and the same .peo as the disruptors that also don't have the problem... something weird is going on here, kids...

It must be weird. The disruptors do the same thing in my setup, as do standard HW bullets (and beams btw).

*edit* I just checked SWI and found the one difference between the new effects and the "original recipe": The original shots rotate along their axis to keep the effect facing the screen as much as possible (though you can still make them disappear if you place the camera right).

The original torps use a modified etg file to lock its facing to the camera. When Zeelich made the new torps however, he made a mistake and locked them vertically somehow, so that they're always vertical, no matter which side of them the camera's looking at. *edit*

I got a little discouraged by the torpedo thing, and then I got de-motivated in general... I'm back on trying to get stuff in SFC again, but I'll try and find some time for ITL as well...

It's mainly (or maybe only) been SFC work lately, so you'll have to check the SFC forum for that progress. We'll let you know when(if) we (and I use that term loosely) get back to modding Cataclysm.

It's still on my to-do-eventually list, but well on the back burner...
