Just for the record, there are no "phaser cannons" on the Soyuz. All those big honking things are sensor arrays. ;) This is actually somewhat reinforced, believe it or not, by an article in the final issue of "Star Trek: The Magazine," where Trek behind-the-scenes guru Rick Sternbach explains that gun-turret-looking thing on the Constellation as a "sensor turret." And I can't figure out if Darth actually thinks that something is missing from the model, or he's just pissed off because the Saratoga screenshots I posted only showed one of the two "pulse phasers" firing...

I did not design the ships, I just build them. and while buidling them i search for every last scrap of reference i can find. The Saratoga was easy to do since the Miranda was already built. The ship IS a Miranda class (as is the Soyuz, and the Lantree), but with modifications. there are only 2 of those "guns" on the saratoga (i got the studio model pics to prove it). IF they are really guns or not i dont know. I never saw the episode that featured that ship.

I also agree about the Soyuz's "cannons" being nothing more than antenna for sensor arrays.

You guys can argue the true purpouse of these things untill doomsday. Im just building the ships

Technically, the Bozeman is referred to as Soyuz-class. Hence why we're calling it a "Soyuz."

Less talking, more building, Stress.

Then see my comments above about how there are no "phaser cannons" on the Soyuz.
