In more simulated test runs we see that while Star Empire is very capable of shooting down incomming missiles..The Phase 2 Unfortunetly is not.

Here we see some test firings of the phase 2's new phasers Image Star Empire watch's vigilently in the background

The test confirmed while the Phase 2 didnt live up to her expectations in combat, The ships advanced sensor technology combined with the firepower of the Star Empire made a formidable combination.

Everything's looking great.

Well, apart from that kelvin beam. That, I think you should find a better graphic for, but the rest is as stunning as ever. Image

That's just the standard Beast infection beam for the moment... didn't SOA borrow that at one point for Species 8472 or something?

That ain't the standard beam. The standard beam is red. I'll admit it's almost the same thing, but it's not using the same texture. Image

In any case, I still say it needs a replacement.

That's odd, cause I don't think we've replaced the infect weapon textures... Image Maybe it's an OpenGL/D3D difference?

Here's a couple shots of my own:

Three Eagle-class destroyers pass a resource operation on their way to join up with an attack fleet:

And an unverified image of Phase 2 vessels, the largest fleet seen to date:

Nifty. Make the fireEvents for the kligon beams bigger to hide the corners of the beam.

Belive me i would if i knew how. I want to replace that whole graphic with a pulse effect (but leave it a beam weapon).

I figured out why the infect weapon does that, its mixing up the SoA spiral wave effect in with the original beast infect (i think its a cool effect IMO)

Cap' im running the same dev build u are. how is it we get 2 different results? i use D3D (without anti aliasing) because i cant take screenshots with Opengl or any tweaks to video settings. all i get black screens. id love to show how it looks with full screen AA (i use a radion 8500le 128 meg card)

I think you have replaced them. I recognise that one as the texture used on the version adapted for species 8472 in SoA. Look in the texture dir, I bet you'll find the brown version in there...

*edit* Hey stress, if I can have a go at that version, I'd be happy to crank out some top quality screens on my GF4 for ya. I've never had the black screenshot issue on my comp. (well, except for some time ago when I had to use D3D) Image *edit*
