I'm English, but can speak German... so I wouldn't rule out it being something else.

I took Russian to a little over GCSE level, but, this side of a dictionary, I'm at a loss.

I'll see if I can find someone in the language department to mail about this...

'Yanishu mushenski' - possibly 'ya ne s'humashedshiy' - 'i'm not crazy' misspronounsed
but who the hell knows lol

'Nou Vonte' sounds like 'Those'

don't see any relation...

Please don't try to do it from the words I wrote down! Image - those are pure phonetical sounds, and from (bad) memory too. The ONLY way to do it is to listen to Walter saying the lines......

According to the text commentary by Mike & Denise Okuda on the Special Edition DVD, the first line is "I'm not crazy!" and the second line (approximately) is "There it is!" It isn't mentioned there, but I've heard elsewhere that this was the first time that Chekov was ever heard speaking Russian in Trek...

Hope that was worth the 2.5-year wait, Crook... :D

I think this holds a record for most-dead revived thread I've ever seen.

;)
Lord Vorkosigan does not always get what he wants!

Let's be about it.

Fmeh, you must not go to the Relic boards... I've seen stuff dug up from 2001 over there... ;)

There it is!

That'll do for me. Always nice to get an answer. I wait around for these things you know.

I haven't been a regular there since...egads...since everyone accused A-whazzhisface, the new admin that was added after S-whazzhisface really got busy, of being really tyrannical.

Funny, I remember sno and GAN. How sad is that? ;)

ETA: Athexx, that was it!

I was busy reading the first couple of posts and then when I saw the date when this topic was posted I thought that I must be seeing things as why would a topic that was posted in 2002 be up all the way to the top of the list? Then I quickly scrolled down to the bottom to see that somebody has posted recently.Phew!
