I would like to create a new starship class in the TNG/DS9/Voyager era and have decided to kitbash various ships to create the new class.I know what to do but do I need permission to use the various meshes just to create the ship only?

Thanks will do.The thing is I can't find the right warp nacelles for the ship.I think one of the ships at trek-mods for SFC 2+3 has similar ones that I'm interested in using for the ship.

By "Create the ship" do you mean "assemble the other ship parts into a 3D model"?

If you're just thinking up some crazy ship with Constitution nacelles and a Galaxy saucer, you wouldn't need permission from some guy who modelled a Connie and some other guy who modelled a Galaxy. But if you were going to take their models and re-arrange the parts to make a ship, you would need permission.

Well heres the ship which uses parts from 2 ships. The voyager mesh from SoA v9.0 and the Nebula mesh from SoA v_95a.It hasn't been properly texture mapped. Its called the Boniene(pronuonced bo neen) class starship.

Yea, if you kitbashed from SoA models you will need permissions to post them for download.

Not bad work tho im iffy on the design, but dont let that discorage you. This how people learn to make thier own models by following the examples of others.

It's not really meant at the moment for download but I had the idea for the ship for a long time(made a lego version of it and also Voyager,Enterprise-E and the Miranda class starship).

Don't know if you've ever seen this before, Max, but what you've created here is a lot like one of the early concepts for Voyager:

Personally, I don't think the Galaxy nacelles really suit the Voyager components, but the Nebula module doesn't look too bad...
