The ship on the bottom was on the "Hall of Fame" wall of previous ships named Enterprise on the Rec Deck in Star Trek: The Motion Picture. It's actually based on one of Matt Jeffries' original concepts for the Enterprise in TOS. One of the "Enterprise" series designers chose that same concept as the inspiration for the Vulcan ships, and in a rare bit of continuity actually created something that could realistically be a precursor to the Vulcan ships of the TNG era (as seen in "Unification").

Deathblane, where have B&B said that Ent is an alternate timeline? If that were true, I might hate the show slightly less... maybe.

Finally, JR, if I might make a friendly suggestion--you might consider actually having a point when you post. ;)

I'm not entirely sure myself where they said it. Personally I picked it up at Space Battles (where I lurk when bored). I'm pretty sure several different people have mentioned it (and it's accepted without comment), but untill the origional source is found I suppose it has to be taken with a pinch of salt.

One last thing, I know this thread didn't have much point at the start, but it's gained more posts in less time than pretty much any other thread in recent weeks ;)

One more random thing, does anybody else remember that guy who appeared and posted some pretty funny trek-satire? (went under the name of Riker somethingorother I think)

I can't remember either where I heard it first, but the story goes that the Enterprise show came about, following the timeline meddling of the Ent-E in First Contact, hence the episode with NX-01 finding the remains of the Borg Sphere from said movie...

And "Enterprise" is just a prototype series, and not a real Star Trek show. :D
