Mostly Voyager.
The turanics are based, as most things are in HW are based on ancient tribal history. Some might remember the battle of the Talas river from Chinese history for example.
So a comparison to the main group of raiders around that time and area is accurate. But if you're looking for a good analogy in scifi then you have to look at the Black Suns in SW and perhaps the Raiders in B5. Star Trek can't hold up against the scrutiny of a good plot.

Black Sun, IMO, isn't a very good analogy for the Raiders--Black Sun was more an attempt to create an interstellar Mafia. It's a lot more organized than I think the Turanic Raiders are.

OTOH, I think the Turanics are probably more organized than the B5 raiders, but that's just a guess since we don't really know much about them... Image

The B5 raiders created the second smallest jump capable ship using stolen, presumedly, EA tech. They have to be pretty organized.
And they do contract work, they were working for the Drazi in Season 5.

I didn't recall either of the Raider Jump ships being particularly small...

The Battle Wagon was something like a corvette, mostly just a jump engine and ports for fighters.

Yeah, but even corvette-class ships in B5 are huge... Image
