OK, the obvious first question here on this project is:

Who wants to do what? :D

CommanderJones has already laid claim to pretty much the entire Raider fleet (certainly, the Attack Carrier and Ion Array Frigate) and the Kushan Carrier.

Meurig has already done some work on the Taiidan destroyer, which should lead into the missile destroyer; he's then, I believe, going to work on at least one of the Kushan frigates. (He can--and will, I'm sure ;) --correct me if I'm wrong.)

Anybody else who's interested and has a particular ship they'd like to do, please post it here. [img]smile.gif[/img]

NOTES:

1. The Hiigarans use Defense Field Technology in HW2, so we thought it might be interesting to lead into this. [img]smile.gif[/img]

2. On our project, at least, these would mostly just be for purposes of having "listening posts" and the like out there in the SP campaign--actual MP would use subsystems similar to the HW2 setup. Not sure why I felt the need to point that out just now...

3. This was just a thought we had of something that might be fun to include. I have a couple of design ideas if anybody's interested in taking a shot... they're mostly based off the Taiidan Interceptor, so might help to do that first... :D

4. We were thinking that, since HW2 is unlikely to support "linking" as done in HWC (and since we think the whole idea is pretty silly anyway), perhaps the ACV should just be based on the idea of joining two Acolytes together rather than literally doing it. So, it would start as two Acolytes, but then be modified to show that it was really a one-piece vessel.

5. Not sure if these are feasible in HW2 or not; would like to have them if they are, though.

Still plenty available to work on if anyone's interested... ;)

I'd like to do the taiidan assault frigate, and if i can get away with it, i'l claim the scout too :D

Well, actually youre right, but... heh.

I'll grab the bentusi tradeship too if it'll appear.

And the kushan frigate of choice was the ion, but i suppose since its basically teh same chassis itll be simplish to just modify it.

Oh, and here's a couple of quick WIP's to show you kind of what we're thinking for the new models.

Basically, we're not looking to go all the way back to the concept art and completely remake everything, like that "Requiem War" group over at the Relic boards is. We're more interested in just taking the existing designs and throwing some more polies and bigger textures at them to make them look better. In particular, taking details out of the textures and modelling them in, like this early work on the Raider Ion Array Frigate:
