I know there are some Stargate fans here. If you want to follow the progress of the Asgard O'Neill I'm making, I'm posting my updates in this LWG topic

Should anyone care, I've finished and released the model for Lightwave, and it's available here if you want it.

The original is pretty much straight chrome, which looks like shit, to be honest. So I made the textures more as I want them to look. It's also got elements from the two different versions of the ship seen in the series, the first one has those things on the bottom of the head for example, where later ones don't. I like them so they're in there.

That's what you can get for crap CG continuity ;)

It's a great model, as always, Meurig, but, I'm not sure I agree with the textures either. It just doesn't look real. Looks like a plastic model.

Why is it called the ONeill class ship?I saw that while reading the topic at the url provided.Looking at the pics of the ship it is a 50/50 split. What I mean is that it sort of looks like a plastic model when looking at some parts of the ship but then again it looks just perfect considering the fact that I haven't seen the ship in a stargate episode then!

The 1st episode of the next season of stargate that was suppose to been shown in SA is the one where Thor comes to earth and tells oniell that he is dying and his ship is on auto-destruct...

The ship is reflective and it doesn't look at all plastic, it just doesn't have anything in the scene to reflect. If you were to look at something chrome in a completely black space, it would just appear matte.

The original is reflective, that isn't my choice. In fact I have gone against that by adding the patterning and colour variation.

Put the ship in a space scene and it will reflect the stars, ships, objects or whatever that surround it.

Yes it does as if you look as the parts of the ship on the wings that are vertical you can see the reflections of the wings on the surfaces of the vertical parts and you can see parts of the vertical parts on the wings as well.
