Something like number 2, but with our logo where the planet is. And as Tex suggested, it wouldn't hurt to check out some other fonts...

I checked out some fonts and picked my favourite - 'danube' as seen above. This banner isn't going to work without direction. So:

Like #2, but replace the planet with the TGU logo (Still not complete / done)

Use a new font - which?

What about the square backplate - good / awful?

Colours overall? I alwasy start with blue, because I like blue. What should I be using?

I'm liking it. The flame thing isn't centred above the text, or in the image, though. I do think we've found a decent font, finally - I'm pretty happy with that.

Yeah, I reckon we can work with this - maybe add a bit more colour? Not so sure about the shade of blue in the flame - still, I think you might be onto something now :)

What i like is the sperate logo with the expanded banner, sounds poncy but it does allow a 'corperate' identity that can in theory become familiar. Id sooner work from the badge perspective that the banner perspective.
I think it matters more that our badge looks good (i quite like what we have) as that can be tag in CS etc and be part of this site, the banner simply needs to give the unabrievated name of TGU.

Yeah, we mustn't abandon the logo - as bzb says, it can become an important part of TGU's identity.
