Problem with Gigex downloaders...

Post by maxdamage » Tue Nov 17, 2009 12:06 am

I downloaded these 2 gigex downloaders so I can download the two demos:I-War Neutronium Demo and the I-War Evacuation (CGW) Demo but I keep getting this error message for either downloader:
(3.20) D:\Downloads\IndWarDemo.exe: Dispatcher initialisation error 11
(3.20) D:\Downloads\Independence.exe: Dispatcher initialisation error 11
I have tried compatibility mode but it doesn't seem to be working? Also I have been looking to help topics for my problem but nothing?

Since you're downloading them off the internet archive, there's a big chance that they're simply defunct. They probably refer to a server that's no longer there.

I thought about that and did a search through google for the files but nothing.Nowhere else appears to host those 2 demos.I am busy downloading the 3rd demo that is still hosted by infogrames:'Defiance Break and Enter Demo.Weird!

Defiance_End.mp3

I have tried Emule to no sucess and #$%#$% Limewire and I have thought of using utorrent but it is a pain to use! :( Does anyone know where I can find a prog to modify a playlist .pls file?I need one that is small in size, free and is able to modify a playlist as but I cannot find a decent one although I have been searching using google for ages since I logged on a couple of hours ago....

Try asking about it here: http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/fo ... .php?f=137

There's a thread going on about the Music from I-War 2, and the artist who composed it is following that thread. I don't know if it's the same guy who did the music for the first game, but it's worth a try.

According to the archived page the guy who created the music is Chris Mann.

Thanks

Yep, that's the guy on the forum I linked to. Try asking him about it there. He released high quality versions of the tracks from the second game for free. Maybe he'll do the same for the first.
