they probobly ommited external build for gameplay reasons (resource drain). tho in Cat i never noticed a preformance hit. I think the only things that crossed over from cat into hw2 were the resourcer "workers", and the various moduales. woulda been nice for them to have thier own explosions when you took em out :/

Yeah, I was pretty dissapointed by the moduals in HW2- I was hoping for larger addons to the shape of the mothership, like with the Vaygr carrier, not just little bumps. And the external building was always a highlight of Cataclysm's revisions to the game.

I would have loved to have seen external build on all the modules and everything added onto the external surface of MS's, shipyards, and carriers in HW2... :(

With the introduction of shipyards in hw2 will you be doing any of the shipyards from startrek?

And u know what would have been uber cool, it would have been seeing the ship get constructed as well. Similar to cata but instead of a back to front view of it being built it should have been poly by poly and have worker bees welding the poly edges together. Also with that u know the damage sparks when ion cannons hit stuff like destroyers and repair work effects by the workers well that would be a cool welding effect i'd have thought.

Well with the sdk for hw1 i guess it might be possible now. Who knows.
